Overtime in uAttend is dictated by what department the employee is tagged to in their profile (their 'home' department). The overtime rules within still apply even if the employees are using Department Transfer to split their hours between jobs.

Each department has its own 'Overtime' section, and this is where all overtime is configured. When you create a department and open this page for the first time, this is what you'll see:

Weekly Overtime

To enable weekly overtime, go to the 'Weekly Rule' line and click the edit button. The two drop down boxes that appear mean hours and minutes respectively, or specifically after how many hours and minutes of regular time should the employees' rate move to one or both of the overtime rates.

Once you click 'Save', two more options will appear below. These dictate how overtime splits between the OT1 column and OT2 column:

The multiplier setting factors in when a pay rate has been entered for the employee in the General section of their user settings (optional).

Daily Overtime

Daily overtime can be set in two ways; either by the actual time of day (i.e. between 6pm and 11pm) or by how many hours the employee has worked (i.e. after 8 hours). Choose one of the two methods and press the save button. A message will appear asking if you are sure you want to change the overtime settings, just click yes to this.

By Hours Worked

Clicking the edit button on any of the lines below will bring up these options:

The rate box allows you to type a multiplier (typically 1.5 and 2 for OT1 and OT2 respectively) for the purposes of showing an accurate gross pay total, and the Min Hours allows you to set how many hours and minutes of overtime must be worked before employees are eligible for overtime pay. This is used to prevent small amounts of overtime from being accrued when the employee clocks a few minutes more than the expected hours.

If for example after 3 hours of OT1 the employees' hours go to OT2, then the OT2 line should be set as follows:

This must be set as after how many total work hours their time goes to OT2.

By Hour of the Day

Clicking the edit button will bring up slightly different drop down boxes when using By Hour of the Day:

The first two drop down boxes allow you to select the hour and minute of the day at which overtime starts, and the second set lets you select when it finishes.
