As fingerprints are organic and can be worn or damaged, sometimes an employee may have trouble using the fingerprint sensor. Here are some tips to try in order to get your Fingerprint time clock working it's best for your staff:
How to use the fingerprint sensor properly.
- In the majority of cases incorrect use of the sensor will mean the time clock cannot verify the employee.
Step 1) Place fingerprint properly on sensor. The finger needs to be inserted all the way in the sensor so it touches the curved indent at the top. It is very common for the fingerprint to look like it is on the sensor, however half the print may be not touching the sensor glass.
Step 2) Give the sensor a nice, firm press and leave fingerprint on there until you hear confirmation.
Step 3) Do not move finger on sensor. Moving the finger on the sensor will mean the camera cannot get a clear image of the fingerprint.
So I've confirmed my staff are using the sensor properly, but we are still having issues.
- Now let's try these additional steps.
Step 4) Add more fingerprints. uAttend can enrol up to 5 fingerprints per employee. This is because some fingerprints are better on some fingers than others. So add as many fingerprints as possible for staff who are having trouble. They can then use any of those fingers to sign on.
Step 5) With the above 4 steps completed, if a certain employee still has issues verifying with the fingerprint sensor, you can issue them a pin-code.
